Bike Fit

Bikes and people come in all shapes and sizes. Finding the perfect match between the bike and the person doe not happen by accident.

A "bike fit" is the process of adjusting a bike to better fit its rider. Bikes have enough adjustability to move the key components at least a couple inches to better fit the rider. Adjustments can include the drop, reach, angle, and width of the cockpit. Of course there is the height, for-aft position, and tilt of the saddle. Even subtle adjustments can make the difference between comfortable or painful. A bike that is not properly adjusted can cause or aggravate an injury.

Triathlon bikes, in particular, have many adjustments that are critical for comfort. If your reach or body angles are not right, you will be uncomfortable for long rides. A good bike-fit also will maximize your available power.

Standard Bike Fit

This service is for those that already own a bike and need to have it fit them better. Rarely do bike stores have the time to spend a solid hour making sure every aspect of your bike is adjusted to best fit you. They may not have the time to adjust the reach, drop, and other parameters that are key for the comfort of your back and shoulders. The standard fit takes an hour and costs $100.

FIST Fit

This service is for those looking to purchase a triathlon or time trial bike. It is done using a bike fit simulator at Bike World so that we can adjust the effective frame geometry in small increments. The FIST fit will let you know with certainty that the bike you plan to buy has the right frame geometry. This iterative process will find out just how aggressively you can position your body and still ride comfortably. It will help you make a very informed choice for your future bike. Our FIST certified bike fitter will spend 2-2.5 hours with you. This service cost $200

Performance Fit

Sometimes called a "dynamic fit" this is the process of tweaking bike variables while riding at a realistic power level. We will take the time to really dial in all the adjustments for your bike position over a two hour period with significant riding after each change. Wear all your biking apparel. Leave knowing that you are set up in position that will be comfortable for a long ride. $200
